About

Please note that the care and wellbeing of my rats are my first priority and adoption requirements must be met regarding vet care, diet and housing.I only adopt out pairs of rats to adopter who does not have an existing colony. There is enough evidence to suggest keeping lone rats are harmful to its health. No exceptions.

Wild Whiskers Rattery South Africa has been active since 2017. I am a SAFRA registered breeder. I work with local lines and some lines from the 2006 SARBU imported rats to South Africa. I work continuously to improve the lines I breed.
No breeder works without the help and support from other ratteries. The most important factor is passion. I am also the owner of The Rat’s Whiskers SA rescue. I firmly believe that it is essential to know what it means to home an animal. This includes educating on correct care and support adopters.
I do believe ethical and compassionate breeding ensures that unique qualities are preserved and encourage the viewpoint to keep rats as pets.
